Son of Jonathan Shaw and Elizabeth Atwood. Grandson of Jonathan Shaw and Mehitable Pratt , Deacon Nathaniel Atwood and Mary Morey.

Husband of Hannah Perkins, the daughter of Luke Perkins and Ruth Cushman. They were married 10 May 1739 in Plympton and had the following children:
