Wife of Ernestine R Mayle Sheme (1933- ) whom he married Nov 25, 1958. The son of William Sheme (b Nov 25, 1915) and Dalena M Sheme (March 22, 1919- Sept 19, 1999) also buried in this plot. A member of Pritchard Wesleyan Church in Barbour County behind which is this burial plot. Resident of Clarksburg, and father of four children under the age of ten when fatally involved in the explosion of Farmington Number Nine Consol Coal Mine in Farmington, Marion County, WV on November 20, 1968. He was employed less than two years at the mine, and his occupation at the time of the explosion was shuttle car operator. His remains were recovered on March 13, 1974.
