Funeral services for Era Christine Alston will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2006 in the Harmony Baptist Church in Glenmora with the Revs. Dennis Ledoux and Wayne Dunn officiating. Committal services will follow in the Butter Cemetery in Forest Hill under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mrs. Alston 82, of Glenmora entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 in the Rapides Regional Medical Center.

She was born on August 3, 1923 in Pollock. She also was a Church of Christ by faith and a fast food industry cook.

Her husband, Louis Alston, Sr.; one son, Louis Alston, Jr.; one granddaughter, Wendy Alston; five brothers, Alford Grantham, John T. Grantham, Fred Grantham, Dewey Grantham and James Grantham; one sister, Betty Ann Ackerson preceded her in death.

She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, three sons, Eugene Alston of Glenmora, Robert Alston, Sr. of Glenmora and Jimmy R. Alston, Sr. and wife Audrey of Glenmora; four sisters, Billie Ray Hoffman of Ohio, Doris Rogers of Alexandria, Janet Klamerus of Missouri and Mary Waggoner of Tioga; four grandchildren, Aimee and husband James Vincent of Woodworth, Robert Alston, Jr. and wife Melissa of Calcasieu, Jimmy "Bo" Alston, II and Kurk Roy both of Glenmora, and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Al Hallsworth, Roy Dale Rogers, Allen Rogers, Jody Stokes, James Vincent and Martin Gilchrist.

Visitation will be observed today in the church until time of service.
