She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Dodds; and brother, John E. Dodds.
George survives his wife, as does a daughter, Dorothy Ann Maloney; and son, George Evan Bale; grandchildren, Pam (Joe) Alwan, Cindy (John) Morris and Tom (Erin) Maloney; and great-grandchildren, Mason Alwan, Caitlin Alwan, Matt Alwan, Jordan Morris, Taylor Morris, Merrick Maloney and Aidan Maloney.
Mrs. Bale graduated from Illinois State University and first taught in a one-room school house near Glenarm. She was a substitute teacher for Ball Chatham School District for many years.
She was a self-taught artist who exhibited at the Old State Capitol Art Fair, Peoria Art Guild, Lakeview Museum and Junction City Art Fair in Peoria.
