Freda met her future her husband, Hans Schroeder when he came to work on the same farm that she was working on. After World War I, she married him and they migrated to America on August 9, 1926 and settled in Chicago, IL. She worked cleaning houses and doing other various jobs. Her husband worked for International Harvester Company. After they retired, they moved to Elberton, Ga to be with their only child and their three grandchildren.
She was of the Christian faith, and was a member of the Lutheran Church. She was a prayer warrior and she had the heart of a servant. She worked all the days of her long life and she entered into heavenly rest on August 1, 2004 at 101 years of age. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she was loved by all.
