Revolutionary War Soldier, Pension abstract:

Peter Clinton, widow Frances (nee) Bradner, Wid File # 9390

"...Peter Clinton lived with one Joseph Bradner on Crowder's Creek, in York
District, South Carolina, before he entered the Revolution, and served as a
Captain of South Carolina troops, as follows: for three months under Colonel
Neel in the "Snow Campaign"; from July 8 to October 11, 1776, in expedition
against the Cherokee Indians; from February 1, to April 9, 1779, under General
Williamson, and was afterwards in general service until his death in the Spring
of 1780. [See below affidavit - mlj]

"Soldier married in 1776 or 1777, Frances Bradner who died November 13, 1847.
They had two children, Joseph born March 10, 1778, and Margaret born May 24,
1780; Joseph survived in 1850, at which time he resided in York District, South
Carolina, and applied for the pension due on account of the services of his
father as set forth above. The claim was allowed.

Certificate of Pension issued 6 March 1852 based on services of Peter Clinton,
Capt. of Calvary, $202.50 per annum.
