At time of death resided on Market Street in Cheraw, S.C. Received as a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church at Mount Croghan, S.C. by certification from a missionary in the CSA, 1866. Was always called General Baker but in reality he was a private in the CSA. Served in Kelly's Company South Carolina Light Artillery (Chesterfield Artillery) also Coit's Battery. Married August 22, 1867.
