Dorotha was born Oct. 3, 1934 in Konawa, Okla, to William Franklin Grubaugh and Clara D. (Nelson) Grubaugh. She spent most of her life in Shawnee, Okla. She married Claude Charles Butler. They were married 37 years when he preceded her in death.
Dorotha was a lifelong member of the Thompson Heights Church of Christ in Shawnee. She also worked for years as a nutrition assistant at Shawnee Middle School. Dorotha enjoyed making jewelry, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids of whom she loved dearly.
Dorotha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude; brothers, LeRoy Grubaugh, Stanley Grubaugh, and Willis Grubaugh; and sister, Elva Berger. Survivors include her son, Jerry Don Butler, of Coal Valley, Ill; daughter and husband, Nancy "Claudette" and Jerry Morrison, of Shawnee; son and wife, Richard and Linda Butler, of Okemah; sister, Marie Price, of Shawnee; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 10 am Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Newell officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee.
