Ralph Allen "Bud" Meese, age 79 of Wahoo, died Monday November 24, 2003 in Omaha, NE.

He was born July 25, 1924 at Wahoo to Ralph and Francesca (Hase) Meese. On February 13, 1944 he married Bernice Ohm at Wahoo, NE. He served in the Army infantry during World War II. Bud spent much of his life as a heavy equipment operator doing road construction. He also was manager of the Douglas County Landfill for a number of years. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildrenís dance recitals, sporting events, and other activities. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and Eagles. Bud was active with the honor guard in the VFW.

He was preceded in death by brothers Carl John and Robert George Meese and granddaughter Tasha Ann Hahn. Survivors include his wife Bernice "Tootie" of Wahoo; daughters and sons-in-law Sherry (Robert) Hahn of Papillion, Sandy Meese of Wahoo, and Holly (Phillip) Johannes of Fremont; grandchildren Brenda Brokenicky, Melissa Teri, and P. J. Johannes; great-granddaughters Kristen and Alissa Brokenicky; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday November 28 at the Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Morse officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Ken Sieg, John Meese, Joel Woita, P. J. Johannes, Eric Brokenicky, and Bob Hahn. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday 5-7 p.m.at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will be at Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo. Memorials may be made to the VFW Post #4502.
