James Robert Latimer (Jim to his family and friends), age 36, died on October 10, 1991 at the hands of a drunken driver while on his way home from work. His untimely and incredibly premature death left a multitude of people saddened and heartbroken, most of all his loving wife Debbie and his two precious children, Jamie and Jeremy. An overcrowded Church, with standing room only during his funeral, was a testament to his life.
The written words in this Bio of Jim Latimer, almost 18 years after his death, can not begin to describe the bigness of this individual. Jim was absolutely head over heels madly in love with his wife Debbie. He told me that on more than one occassion when we were alone fishing or working on his truck. He adored his children and was very much involved in their daily lives. HE WAS A FANTASTIC DAD. If you needed a friend, you could only hope to have one like Jim who always put your needs in front of his and was always willing to help you with any project you had going on. If you had scorpions to get rid of, he knew how to do it and if your cable TV wasn't working, he'd climb the pole and get it going. If you told him you were looking for an old car to fix up as a hot rod....he'd find it and help you drag it home. He was a great fishing and hunting partner who loved being outdoors.....it didn't matter if the fish were biting or not. Happiness was floating in an inner-tube on Toledo Bend lake....But most of all Jim was a Christian and I thank God for that because I know that someday we will meet again.
Jim.....I miss you budd.
