I wanted to provide additional information about my Uncle Jack. Jack died in Bremerton, WA on 05/14/2009 after a 22 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Obituary:
Beloved brother of Marilyn R. Dasho of Bremerton, WA and Norma M. Coleman of Merced, CA, Jack Merrill Foran was born and raised in Merced, CA to Eldora K. and Linden E. Foran.

Jack died after a 22 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He faced it with a cheerful and positive attitude and with a great dignity as he did all of his life. After leaving high school, he enlisted in the Army and served from 1951 to 1954, spending 6 months in Korea, 11 months in Hokaido, Japan, and 12 months at Letterman Army Hospital in San Francisco, CA. His hobbies were motorcycles, old tractors, and model A Fords. He retired from Pacific Gas & Electric after 30 years as an equipment operator in Merced. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Adeline, his mother and father, Sister Dorothy M. Stretch and Brother James F. Foran.

Surviving are his sisters Marilyn Dasho and Norma Coleman (Gordon), nephew Randy L. Dasho (Donetta) of Bremerton, WA niece Kathy L. Dasho of Sequim, WA, and nephew David L. Coleman (Stephanie) of Everett, WA. Jack was a gentle man who had a great love of all animals and always enjoyed hard work. At his request, there will be no services and he will be inurned at the Merced District Cemetery in Merced, CA. He is very appreciative of all his doctors, especially Dr. Kim and his great staff, and the Hospice Care Center and its great staff.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Kitsap County P.O. Box 3416 Silverdale, WA 98383, Harrison Medical Center, 2520 Cherry Ave Bremerton, WA 98310, or Forest Ridge Center 140 Marion Ave S. Bremerton, WA 98312.
