He was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on July 14, 1942 to Santiago James Baca and Chonita L. Baca.
He was a lifelong Catholic and a member of the VFW and American Legion in Albuquerque. He loved fishing, telling a good joke and enjoyed reading.
He served in the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Santiago James Baca and Chonita L. Baca.
He is survived by his daughters: Cassandra Lucero and family; Sonia Montoya and family all of Las Vegas, N.M.; son: Ronnie Jerome Baca and family of Las Vegas, N.M.; sisters: Yvonne Baca and friend Tony and family; Frances Gonzales and family all of Las Vegas, N.M.; brothers: Carlos Baca of Las Vegas, N.M.; Victor Baca and wife Marilyn and family of Albuquerque; Jonas Baca and wife Geraldine and family; Michael L. Baca and children Michael James and Samantha all of Las Vegas, N.M.; Hubert Baca of Albuquerque; Mark Baca and wife Geraldine and family of Las Vegas, N.M.; special uncles: Juan Baca, Jr. of Las Vegas, N.M.; Manuel Eloy Lujan and family of Las Vegas, N.M.; uncles: Tony Salazar and family of Española, N.M.; Arcenio Lujan and family of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; aunts: Florence Maes and husband Raymond of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Rose Vialpando of Fountain, Colo.; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Rosary devotional services will be conducted this evening at 7 p.m. at the Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas, N.M. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant. The following serving as casket bearers: Victor Lee Baca, Joshua J. Baca, Lucas L. Baca, Dewayne Baca, Tony Salazar, Michael James Baca, and Bryan Baca. Cremation will follow services.
Interment will follow at the family plot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
Eulogy will be delivered by Joshua J. Baca.
Family and friends will be received at sisters residence. 109 Mills Ave., Las Vegas, N.M.
