John Dirk Leaphart, 42, a resident of the Coastal Center in Summerville, SC, died on Monday, March 16, 2009. The relatives and friends of Dirk Leaphart are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Coastal Center Chapel, 9995 Miles Jamison Road, Summerville at 3:00 pm. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date. Dirk was born, February 2, 1967 in Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, son of John Lemuel Leaphart and Shirley Britton Leaphart. The family would like to express their love and appreciation to all the Coastal Center staff over the years who provided care for Dirk in such a loving and compassionate way. He and his family were truly blessed. He is survived by his parents, John and Shirley Leaphart of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his brother, David Kirk Leaphart of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his sister, Donna Leaphart (Turner) Jones and his nephew, Zachary David Turner of North Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parents and Guardians Association, Coastal Center, 9995 Miles Jamison Road, Summerville, SC 29485.
