GRAY: Carl Bernard Smith, 80, of Stewart Avenue, died Friday, March 13, 2009, in a local hospital. Family visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00pm, Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Highway 18 East in Gray. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Gray, with Mark Weathers officiating.
Mr. Smith was born on February 20, 1929, in Columbia, South Carolina, and had lived in Gray for the past forty years. He served his country with honor as a member of the United States Army in Korea, was a retired insurance representative and was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Gray.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife: Eva L. Smith; children: Carl Smith, Debbie Sellers and Lucy Meeks; three sisters; and by three grandchildren.
