Manuel Ray Clark, 89, died Friday, March 13, 2009, in Okmulgee, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma.

He was born Sunday, December 21, 1919 to Roy Gree and Gay Nell (Irvin) Clark in Seminole, Seminole County, Oklahoma.
He attended Alfalfa High School and served in the United States Army in 1942.

He married Ella Mae Buchanan in Carnegie, Oklahoma, on December 27, 1941. They had one son, Richard. They lived in the Alfalfa, Carnegie, Swan Lake and Cyril communities before moving to Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his father Roy Clark on October 18, 1958 and by his mother Gay Nell Clark on September 1, 1991; his wife, Ella Mae Clark on November 17, 2008; daughter-in-law, Donna Jean Clark in February, 2009; granddaughter, Kerry Lea Clark; grandson, James "Jimmie" Ray Clark; and his sister, Gatha Faye Clark Irvin on December 3, 1990.

He was survived by his son, Richard Clark of Okemah, Oklahoma; grandsons, Richard Dewaine Clark, Daryl Clark and Kevin Clark, all of Okemah, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Tracy Franklin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 14 great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchldren; three sisters, Colleen Irvin of Winfield, Kansas; Arlene Irvin of Southaven, Mississippi; and Carolyn Irvin of Hobart, Oklahoma; two brothers, Jodie Clark of Carnegie; and Ernest Clark of Texas.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, Oklahoma with Everett Buchanan officiating. Burial was under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
