Although he had been ailing for some years with dropsical affliction, death came suddenly and unexpectedly to Frank Strauss at the home of Mrs. Kuhn, No 1015 High street, where he boarded, last evening. The dissolution is supposed to have taken place about 6 o'clock after Strauss had partaken of supper and gone to his bedroom to rest. A child of Mrs. Kuhn had visited the room and reported the man sleeping and when Mrs. Kuhn made an investigation she found the man cold in death. Strauss was a native of Germany and 42 years of age. He was a widower and two children, whose residences are unknown, survive him. Mrs. Kuhn is not a sister of the dead man, as has been reported, and the only relative in the city is a nephew. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock and interment will be made in Versailles cemetery.
