He was bom Feb. 23, 1922, in Cass County, the son of Emmett H. and Bertha Stephenson Burkett. Nov. 6, 1947, he was married in Logansport to Donna M. Pearson, who survives.
Retired from the maintenance department at Exide, he had been employed there for 21 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
Also surviving are three daughters, Shelia Troutman and Sandy Burkett, both of Logansport, and Shelly Wiseley, Monticello; three sisters, including Grace Fry of Camden; two brothers; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Two sons, a sister, and three brothers preceded in death.
Visitation is 2 to 9 p.m. today at Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with bqrial and military rites in Mount Hope Cemetery.
