Judge Andrews found dead in bed early last Sunday morning

Judge W.T. Andrews, age 68, veteran Texas jurist and a citizen of Stamford for more than 20 years, died at his home on East McHarg Avenue Sunday morning.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church Monday afternoon at 2:30. Services were conducted by Dr. F.S. Groner of Dallas and Rev. J.H. Edmonds of Anson, assisted by Rev. W.C. Moffett, the pastor. Dr. Groner was formerly of the Stamford church and he spoke in highest terms of Judge Andrews and his loyalty and faithfulness in the work of the local church. Rev. Mr. Edmonds was an old friend of the deceased and brought words of comfort to the bereaved family. It had been Judge Andrews's request that Dr. Groner and Rev. Mr. Edmonds conduct the funeral.

The service was concluded at Highland cemetery, where the body was interred. Funeral was directed by the undertaking department of the Penick-Hughes Company.

William Theodore Andrews was born in Colorado County, Texas, on October 18, 1869, and lived his entire life in this state. In 1884, he went to Throckmorton and practiced law in that county for 23 years. On May 25, 1887, he married Miss Ella Thorp. In December 1907, he took up his residence in Stamford. He was an attorney and advisor for the Swenson interests here and elsewhere in Texas and also carried on his private practice. He was active in church and civic affairs and soon became one of the leading citizens of the city.

Surviving: his wife; sons and daughters - Mrs. J.P. Brewington of Waco; Mrs. J.G. Harris of Sweetwater; W.T. Andrews, Jr. of Spur; J.R. Andrews of Houston; H.G. Andrews of Stamford.
