Services for Gertrude Bickerstaff, 88, of Bullard will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. The Revs. J.D. Graham and Byron Banta will officiate.
Burial will be at Bullard City Cemetery.
Mrs. Bickerstaff died Monday at a Jacksonville nursing home. She was born Aug. 30, 1913, in Bullard. She had lived in Bullard all her life and had worked as a nurse at Nan Travis Memorial Hospital for 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bullard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herod Bickerstaff in 1987; son, David Bickerstaff and daughter, Shirley Banta. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Ann Bickerstaff of Slocum; daughter Nona Bickerstaff of Bullard; son-in-law, Byron Banta of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, Gloria Bickerstaff of Bullard; sister, Ethelyn Tillery of Tyler; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
