Charles Everett

WASHOUGAL – Charles F. Everett, a former lumber yard worker and motel owner/operator in Long Beach, Wash., died in Portland Saturday. He was 81.

He was born Aug. 29, 1902, in Coldridge, Neb., and last lived at 1533 G St.

A resident of Washougal in 1938, he lived in Long Beach from 1948 to 1968, when he returned to Clark County. He had been a square dancer since 1949 and was an original member of the Flutter Wheels club.

Survivors include his widow, Laura, at home; a daughter, Darlene Ellis of Portland; three brothers, Fremont of Camas, Burton of Gresham, Ore., and Clifford of Washougal; a sister, Meredith Stoller of Carson, Wash.; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.

A service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Straub's Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Kunz and members of the North Bank Masons Lodge will officiate.
A private burial will precede the service in the Fern Prairie Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Mount Hood Hospice, Box 833, Sandy, Ore., 97055.
