THE HENRY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Tue., Jan. 20, 1931, p. 6, col. 6 [edited].
Mrs. Hardia Mabe Agee, age 46,wife of T. William Agee, resident of Emmitt Street, this city, passed away early Sunday morning at her home, following a lingering illness. She had been in declining health for several years. Death was due to cancer. Funeral services were held from the late residence Monday afternoon and interment made in Oakwood Cemetery.
Surviving is her husband and the following children: Mrs. Stafford Parcell, Thomas and Robert Agee, all of this city. The following brothers and sisters also remain: Mrs. James Gray, Mayodan, N.C.; Walter Mabe, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Harry Mabe, Greensboro, N.C.; and Joseph Mabe, Germanton, N. C.

Survivors listed: Thomas S., Robert C. Agee and Mrs. W. S. Parcell. Two sisters, Mesdames J. W. Gray and James Hodges, both of Mayodan, N.C., and three brothers, Walter Mabe, Germanton, N.C., Harry Mabe, Greensboro, N.C. and Joe Mabe of Walnut Cover, also survive. the following out of town relatives or friends of the family attended the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Hairfield and Mrs. E. S. Johnston, Roanoke; Rev. Jennings Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. James Hodges, Mrs. Caley Pike, Henry and Bill Hodge, Bradley Atkins, Mrs. J. W. Gray, Misses Gracie, Bessie, Ruby and Lucille Gray, all of Mayodan, N.C.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mabe, Capius Mabe, Harry Mabe Jr., Misses Marie and Frances Mabe, all of Greensboro, N.C. and Walter Mabe of Germanton, N.C.

An obituary appeared in the paper dated 1/27/1931, p. 3, and contained the following additional information.
Mrs. Hartie Mabe Agee was born May 20th, 1884, in Patrick County, Va., and fell asleep in Jesus on Jan. 18th, 1931. In her young womanhood she was baptized into the Oak Ridge Baptist Church. On coming to Martinsville she joined the First Baptist Church.
