FLAVA HALBERSTADT IS TAKEN BY DEATH
Mrs. Flava P. Halberstadt, 84, well known resident of Pleasant Mills, died at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Fawn Bienz nursing home at Willshire, O. She had been in failing health since last May.
She was born in Little New York, Tipton county, June 20, 1886 and daughter of Thomas E. and Ida McKinney-Ploughe, and was married to James F. Halberstadt Aug. 15, 1905. Her husband preceded her in death Dec. 1, 1969.
Mrs. Halberstadt was a member of the Pleasant Mills Baptist church, the Missionary Society of the church, the DAV auxiliary, and was a charter Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are one son, James F. Halberstadt, Jr., of Decatur; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Mary) Melching of Pleasant Mills, and Mrs. Virgil (Ruth) Neuenschwander of Colon, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Grover (Blanche) Sims and Mrs. Louie Donnell, both of Frankfort; one brother, Preston A. Ploughe of Kirklin; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One son is deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Zwick funeral home, with Rev. James Mott and Rev. John Maxwell officiating.
Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of the services.
