Born April 17, 1845, Watauga Co., N.C., Thomas J. Love, was the son of Thomas Love, b Wilkes Co., N.C. and Katherine Johnson Love, b. in Iredell Co., N.C.

He was married to Amanda Love and was known to be a carpenter.

On March 2, 1933, Watauga County, N.C., Thomas J. Love, still married, died at the age of 88.

Thomas Jefferson Love served in the CIVIL WAR.

Co. E, 37 N C - Resided in Catawba County and enlisted at Liberty Mills, Virginia, Dec 1, 1863, for the war. Captured at or near Petersburg, Virginia, Apr 2, 1865. Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, until released on Jun 28, 1865, after taking the Oath of Allegiance.
