Phyllis J. Thompson, 67, of Zanesville, died at home, Saturday, January 31, 2009. She was born May 18, 1941, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Clyde and Bernadetta Friesinger Beisser. She retired as an executive assistant for Ohio University-Zanesville. Phyllis was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, OES #485 and was a member and organizer of the Philo High School Class of 1959. She volunteered at different nursing home facilities and was known for her open heart and her beautiful smile.

Surviving are two daughters, Sophia Thompson of Canal Winchester and Stephanie (Mark) Larrick of Sandusky; a sister, Deborah Williams of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, James (Marilyn) Beisser of Zanesville; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas, Koebe and Paige Rush, Angel and Destiny Martinez (Larrick).

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville where Eastern Star #485 will hold services at 5:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the funeral home with Rev. Rob Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
