Concepcion Zambrano Vasquez, 85, passed away on January 27, 2009. Our beloved mother was a woman of strong faith and gentle kindness. She was born on June 26, 1923 in Fabens, Texas and remained a life long resident. She worked as a clerk at the Five and Dime and retired after 17 years. Affectionately known as Nina Concha to her family, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She is survived by: her sons Manuel David, his wife Martha, David Jr.; her daughters Vida Vasquez Taylor, Norma Rey Vazquez de Houdek, her wife Mary Houdek; and four grandchildren Teresa Irene, Carina Beth, Sarah Grace, her husband Guillermo Armendariz , and Justin David. She was preceded in death by her husband David. A special thanks to Regent Care Center for their kindness towards our mother and family. Visitation: 2-5:30 PM, Sunday, February 1 at San Jose Fabens Chapel. Vigil Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, February 1 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Fabens. Funeral Mass: 11:00 am, Monday February 2 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services directed by San Jose Funeral Home-Fabens.
