Son of Henry Charles and Elizabeth Zieger Williams. Husband of Ida M. Westmeyer. Father of Henry I, Beatrice, Gertrude, Henry II, Joseph, John, Mary, James and Paul.

Henry C. Williams, editor and proprietor of the Pacific Herald, a Democratic organ of Franklin County, was born April 10, 1860 in Pacific, MO. He received his education in the public schools in Pacific, and worked in his father's lumber yard and office until 19 years of age. He then opened his printing rooms, and January 29, 1880, issued the first number of the Pacific Herald. After his father's death, he and his brother Joseph P. Williams, had the management of the lumber yard, and he was also in partnership with C.C. Close in the insurance business. He was made justice of the peace of Boles Township in 1882, serving until January, 1887, when he was elected mayor of Pacific. He also served as alderman and was a notary public. He again served as mayor from 1916 to 1924. Several of his sons worked in the printing business with him.
