Cordova - Mary Elizabeth Dawson of Willis Street, Cordova, died Friday March 12, 1993 at the Meridan Nursing Center - Corsica Hills, She was 87.

Born near Trappe, Md on Sept 24 1905, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. Sr. and Maude Wolfe Whitby. After graduating from Trappe High School she married Earle Dawson Sr., a machine mechanic.

The couple made their home in Cordova, where she was a member of the Fairview Church of Brethern and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cordova Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Dawson died in Jan 1980.

Mrs. Dawson is survived by two daughters, Marie D. Clark of Chestertown, and Ethel D. Milby of Cordova; a son Earle Dawson Jr. of Cordova; two sisters, Mattie Dulin of Easton and Mildred Walker of Goldsboro; two brothers, David Whitby of Cambridge and Alvin Whitby of Trappe; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday March 17 at the Newnam Funearl Home in Easton, where friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery near Easton.
