Harriet Ardella Prosser was the fifth of seven children to Calvin and Jane Typort Prosser Sr. Her brothers and sisters were: Sarah, John I, Julius, Charles, Calvin and Elsie.
She married Edwin Ruthvin Arnold on 20 Apr 1865 in Madison Co. NY and they had three sons: Fredrick Eugene, Franklin Ruthvin and Calvin Arthur but he changed his middle name to Ruthvin like his fathers also.
Harriet and Edwin went to Kansas as Pioneers in a covered wagon and helped founded Syracuse, Hamilton Co., KS. On the way back home to NY, Edwin fell sick and died in Chase Co. KS and was buried there.
