He was retired from Mid-Continent/Sun Oil Company after 44 years. He enjoyed playing golf, building birdhouses and playing 22 points plus triple-word-score plus 50 points for using all my letters. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles B. Hilburn and his granddaughter, Julie A. Hilburn. He is survived by: his wife; daughter, Frances J. Dear of Sapulpa; son, A.J. Hilburn, Jr. and wife, Marilyn of Tulsa; daughter, Marcia G. Duplantis and husband, John of Houma, LA; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Ogilive Roth; and several nieces and nephews.
