Funeral services for Remus Malcolm Gibson age 74, former resident of the Noonday community will be held at 2 p.m., March 7, 1967 at the Noonday Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil F. Williams officiating.

Buriel will be in the Noonday Cemetery under the direction of Griner Funeral Home of Newton, Texas.

Mr. Gibson died Sunday afternoon, March 5, 1967 at the Newton County Memoril Hospital.

Mr. Gibson was born in Noonday and lived there for many years. He was a member of the Noonday Baptist Church, a veteran of World War I and was a retired night watchman for Sartin Lumber Company.

He was predeceased by his wife, Laura Ellen Wornell Gibson in 1966 and one daughter, Shirley Ann Gibson.

He is survived by six daughters: Geraldine Thedford of Kilgore, Essie Mae Smith of Newton, Bennie Hall of Newton, Texas, Tommie B Rice of Goldonia, Louisiana, Billie Sue Grider of Oralando, Florida and Wonell Williams of Orange, Texas. He was also survived by three brothers, Wiley, Colquitte and Tommy all of Noonday, two sisters, Sammie Burkhalter of Tyler and Nettie Stewart of Noonday, 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be J. B. Gibson, Paul Gibson, Sam Gibson, Jimmie Gibson, Frank Neeley and Dempsey Stewart.

My grandpa was in WW and was wounded the day after his brother Roland was killed. The location was a half mile to the SW of Montigny-devant-Sassey, France.
