LeRoy Berberich, 66, died on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, October 8, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN with Father Antony Fernando Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Brooks, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service on Sunday evening and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

LeRoy Berberich was born June 8, 1941 at home on the family farm in Poplar River Township, Red Lake County, MN, the son of Leander Edwin and Mayme Viola (Asselin) Berberich. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN. He attended St. Joseph School in Red Lake Falls, MN and Brooks School. Leroy lived on the family homestead where he farmed, raised hay, and dairy cows all of his life. He loved his German shepherd Rufus, the farm life, and his family and friends. Leroy also enjoyed threshing bees, tractor pulls and auction sales and going to town for dances. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, and the Tri River Pioneers in Plummer.

LeRoy is survived by brothers: Lawrence (Sue), Butch, and John (Stacey) Berberich, all of Brooks, MN; sisters: Marge (Tom) Miller and Loretta (Larry) Pittman, all of Thief River Falls, MN, Alice (Sonnie) Balstad, and Sue (fiancé, Jack, Nelson) Olson, all of Fosston, MN, Fritz Liebl of Bemidji, MN, Betty (Mark) Lindy and Rita (Kevin) Fenner, all of Bemidji, MN, Kay (Joe) Sharp of Erskine, MN, Connie (Charles) Bishop of Oklee, MN and Janet (Rick) Koivisto of Plummer, MN; 20 nieces and nephews, Michelle, Lynn, Corey, Tammy, Kyle, Renee, Loren, Lorray, Lana, Ami, Matt, Luke, Eric, Allen, Gail, Mark, Carl, Stephanie, Brittany and Ben; 14 great nieces and nephews, Alexis, Megan, Taylor, Ty, Linzie, Bailey, Nick, Noah, Blake, Bowen, Kimberlee, Jack, Charlie, Nick, and Luke.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leander and Mayme Berberich; brother, Linus; sister, Carol Harbott; Grandparents Fred and Margaret Berberich and Onezime and Permilia Asselin; 1 nephew Chad Berberich, 2 nieces, Jana and Jennifer Miller and 3 brothers-in-law, Kenny Liebl, Richard Dugstad and Gene Olson.
