Thelma A. Mackie, 95, of Williamsfield, died at 8:20 PM, Tuesday, December, 23, 2008 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 29 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church. Rev. Randy Douglass will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, December 28 at Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield. Burial will be in Victoria Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Williamsfield United Methodist Church or to Williamsfield EMT.
Thelma was born on March 9, 1913 in McCall, IL, the daughter of Carl and Nell (Jones) Craig. She married Harold Mackie on December 10, 1935 in Victoria. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1962. She later married Robert F. Mackie on June 15, 1968 in Williamsfield. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1984. Survivors include three daughters, Reta Ann (Wayne "Barney") Ott of Dahinda, Sue Meyer of Avon and Jacque (Russ) Galbreath of Williamsfield, seven grandchildren, Martie, Mark and Michael Ott, Craig Johnson, Joshua and Zachary Galbreath and Tasi Mackie, two step-grandchildren, Brian Meyer and Kerri Ritter, twelve great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a granddaughter-in-law.
Thelma graduated from Victoria High School. She had worked as a cook at Williamsfield Schools and as a postal clerk at the Williamsfield and East Galesburg post offices. She was a member of the Williamsfield United Methodist Church and its Circle 3. She was also a member of the Center Prairie Social Club. She was a Cubs fan and enjoyed reading and her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
