Janice M. Bledsoe, 81, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2008 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. She was the wife of Grover G. Bledsoe, Jr. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in May. Janice was born in Washington, D.C., adopted daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Harriet Smith Moore.

Janice was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster where she served as a deacon. She retired from the Lancaster County Vocational Technical Schools, Willow Street, where she worked as a secretary. She also worked as a library aide for Smoketown Elementary School in the Conestoga Valley School District.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Barbara, wife of Barry L. Snyder of Brownstown; Karen, wife of W. Michael Kirkpatrick of Mocksville, North Carolina; and Kristina, wife of Stephen D. Hoskins of Brownstown. Janice is also survived by six grandchildren, Angela, Jennifer, Kevin, Bryon, David and Megan, and a sister, Julia Pegg of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Philbert Elwood Moore and Kenneth Francis Moore.

She enjoyed all types of needlework, reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Janice's funeral service at First Presbyterian Church, 140 E. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 10:30 AM. The family will meet with relatives and friends immediately following the funeral service. Interment will be at the Little Britain Presbyterian Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. If desired, contributions in her memory may be sent to First Presbyterian Church, 140 E.
