Bobby was born to Eldon E. and Deve Plomesen Beers. His given name was Oliver Eldon Beers.His professional name was Bobby. He spent his life in show business from the time he was a child, singing and touring with Lawrence Welk among other bands. He also acted in movies with Ray Milland, Ginger Rogers and Roy Rogers at Paramount Pictures. He acted in such movies as Lady in the Dark 1944 and Santa Fe 1942. Bobby served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an entertainer. He ended his career in radio in the Des Moines,Iowa area and had his own Big Band Radio show. Bobby passed away at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. He is survived by his wife Donna, two sons Bob (Carol) Beers of Hanford, CA and Carols two grown sons. and Randy (Gayla)Beers of West Des Moines and their children, Conner and Callie. He is buried in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, Iowa.
