Mr. J. S. Aven died at his home in Webster Co. on last Friday, at the age of 73. He had lived at this
place for 35 years. His remains were buried at Beulah Church, in this county, on Sunday following
his death.

There is some difference of information on where he was born. His Parents Amos Aven and Matilda "Pinky" Rogers were in Chatham Co NC 1810 and 1820 Perry Co Tn. Most of his census shows NC-his Military

For sure-he was in Perry 1810,Carroll 1824,1830, Married Henry 1837, and in Pike before and after that...to Talbot 1850, Webster where he stayed to death by 1860. He had two other brothers in Ga. John W, and Furnie C. Wife Rebecca Rogers-and children Palestine Eliz. Judson 6 Jul 1840,John E 1844,Malissa A "Milly" Oct 1846, Alice T 1848,William Green Feb 18 1850,Alonzo T 1853,Willie T M 1854, Eudonah P Wesley "Don" 3 May 1857, Emma H W 1860.
He married again, shortly after wife's death-and before his- to Nancy Brown in Terrell 1881.
