A 1940 list of headstones in the Indiana Boys School Cemetery shows "Eddie Brown" who died in 1905.

However, a review of his Hendricks County death record shows that he was NOT buried at the Boys School Cemetery, but that his remains were shipped to Shelbyville for burial. A newspaper article shows he was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery.

His mother died when he was 3 years old, in 1890. So far, his father, John W. Brown (born 1868 in Iowa) has not been found after the 1880 Census.

In 1900, Eddie was living with his maternal grandparents in Hanover, Indiana.

Newspaper Articles:

Eddie Brown, the lad who stole George Kirk's bicycle, took it to Rushville where he sold it for $3, was before Judge Morris this morning. He committed the boy to the Reform School and then suspended sentence pending his good behavior.
