A 1940 list of headstones in the Indiana Boys School Cemetery shows "Eddie Brown" who died in 1905.
However, a review of his Hendricks County death record shows that he was NOT buried at the Boys School Cemetery, but that his remains were shipped to Shelbyville for burial. A newspaper article shows he was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery.
His mother died when he was 3 years old, in 1890. So far, his father, John W. Brown (born 1868 in Iowa) has not been found after the 1880 Census.
In 1900, Eddie was living with his maternal grandparents in Hanover, Indiana.

Eddie Brown, a refractory urchin of this place, was taken to the Boys' Reform School at Plainfield this morning by Sheriff Schoelch. The lad went away bare foot and wearing a straw hat. It used to be in Shelby County, when a pauper was sent to the insane asylum, that outfits costing $49.50 were purchased.

The remains of Ed Brown were brought to this city yesterday from Plainfieeld, where he died, and taken to 179 S. Tompkins St, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm. The Rev J.T. O'Neal will officiate. Interment in Forest Hill, R.T. Stewart in charge.
