He married Emily R. Jameson in New Paris, Ohio, Nov. 3, 1847. They moved to Rushville in the early 50's and continued in the dry goods and grain business until his two sons, Wesley J. Mauzy and Charles A. Mauzy succeeded him in
the business.
His wife, Emily R. Mauzy, died July 12, 1873, and was buried in the beautiful cemetery near Rushville, Ind.
December, 31, 1874, he married in Indianapolis, Mrs. Eliza Hibben Jones, who died in Rushville, Jan. 14, 1906.
Abram Mauzy was noted for his philanthropic work, always doing good and praising and encouraging all to do well.
His children are: Mrs. Mary Frances Payne, Rushville, Ind., (two sons Earl Hamilton Payne and Ralph Payne); Wesley Jameson Mauzy, died May 30, 1890, (one son Harold); Charles
