John A. Allan


Aged 72, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Clark, 713 Sixth avenue, Juniata, at 11:35 o'clock yesterday morning.

He was born in Scotland on Jan. 19, 1864, a son of Robert and Sarah (Allison) Allan, but had resided in Altoona for many years. His wife, Mrs. Catharine Allan, died in 1928. Surviving are one son and nine daughters, Isaac Allan of Juniata, Mrs. Ella McCready of Clearfield, Mrs. Sarah Ellis of Juniata, Mrs. Margaret Lewis of Kitchener, Canada, Mrs. Susan Davis of Morrisville, Mrs. Catherine Wilson of the city, Mrs. Clark of Juniata, Mrs. Velma Hyssong of the city, Miss Laura Allan of New York city and Mrs. Ruby Long of the city thirty one grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Armstrong of Scotland.

Mr. Allan was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Morrisdale lodge, Knights of Pythias.

Funeral services will be held at the Clark home at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon.

Interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
