Amy Sanders, FAG Contributor #47577309, gives the following information.
Francis middle initial C is on grave and on censuses and in Timothy's Bible; the name Calvin was given to us (my mother) by her grandmother, Virginia Evelyn "Jennie" Brice Brannon, daughter of Timothy & Mary Susan Fall.
Francis and Elizabeth Annie "Eliza" Murphy (dau. of Timothy Murphy & Mary Alderman) - both born in Duplin Co., NC and died in Brooks Co., GA. They were parents of 8 known children: first was son Joseph "Joe" Brice born 1826, d. 1827 in Duplin Co., NC; 2nd William Francis "Frank" Brice b. May 1830 Duplin Co. NC, d. after 1910 in Brooks Co., GA, m. Phoebe Alderman; [family moved from Duplin to Thomas Co., GA right after his birth] 3rd Mary W. Brice b. 2 Sep. 1834 in Thomas Co., GA, d. 1912 in Brooks Co., GA, m. Thomas R. Hester; 4th David James Brice b. 1837 Thomas Co., GA, d. 6 May 1864 Battle of the Wilderness, Virginia, buried there & memorial CSA stone placed at Bethel in Brice lot; 5th Timothy Brice b. 4 Oct. 1838 in Thomas Co., GA, d. 11 Apr. 1910 in Pavo, Brooks Co., GA, m. Mary Susan Fall [both buried in Lebanon Cem., Pavo]; 6th Mitchell Brice Sr. b. 14 Dec. 1840 in Thomas Co., GA, d. 7 Mar. 1903 in Quitman, Brooks Co., GA, m. 1st Kissiah M Walker & 2nd Martha Elizabeth "Mattie" Edmondson (first buried in Brice lot along with only child namesake David James Brice, second buried with her family also in Bethel) [all Francis' land was left between Timothy & Mitchell with Timothy getting the western portion and Mitchell getting eastern portion including Brice Pond and Mill and built Ocopilco Plantation]; 7th Martha J. Brice b. 1843 in Thomas Co., GA, d. 1924 in Quitman, Brooks Co., GA, m. Green Berry Williams; and youngest 8th Amanda Brice b. 29 Apr. 1845 in Thomas Co., GA, d. 12 Dec. 1918 in Yell Co., AR, m. Henry Dobbin Byrd.
My mother (Mary Claire Bondurant Warren) transcribed Timothy's Bible many years ago and now has it in her possession at her mother's passing back in 2001. She spent her summers in Pavo staying with her grandparents, Virginia Evelyn "Jennie" Brice & Joseph Monroe Brannon DDS (the town Dentist). We traveled down there last 2 days working in courthouses and visiting my great-grandparents home and both cemeteries to help her remember and confirm some old photos she has in her possession from her mother's collection. It is her hope to put down on paper all the details and document as much as possible for posterity what she has learned over her 84 years about the Brices. I put the transcription of Timothy's Bible pages on his Memorial #122689791 for others to see what was contained.
