Daughter of pioneer Baptist preacher, Elder John Logan and Nancy Newell; wife of William C. Hainline (1823-1904).

According to the History of McDonough County, 1878, by S. J. Clarke, Sarah Elizabeth Black Logan was the the second female child born in McDonough County to Caucasian settlers.

Sarah married William C. Hainline June 14,1849 in McDonough County, Illinois.

Ten children were born to Sarah E.B.Logan and William C. Hainline:

Nancy Catherine Hainline, Jacob E. Hainline, Flora Matilda Hainline, Thomas C. Hainline, James Grant Hainline, William Rouche Hainline,John D. Hainline, Isabella Jane Hainline, Mararet Louisa Hainline and George Hainline.
