Russ was a carpenter, volunteer fireman, boat builder, and the founder of Davison's Boat Yard on Atlantic Ave. in East Rockaway. He was active in yacht clubs and the Power Squadron. He loved being around the water, and taking family and friends out on boats. He was a member of Bethany Congregational Church in East Rockaway. He was greatly loved by all of his grandchildren.
