Eldon Lyle4 Christensen, 64, was the first of four children born to Christian Christensen and Rose Charlotte Peterson.
He was born on October 17, 1924 in Kenmare, ND. He graduated from Kenmare High School, ND. Then graduated from North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND with a BS and MS (1951) in Chemistry. He married Inez Knutson Oct. 28, 1925 in Kenmare, ND, daughter of Theodore Knutson and Inga Evanger.
Eldon worked at Los Alamos Scientific Lab for 32 years. He published 23 scientific papers concerning his work on purification of plutonium. He was also Chairman of a Joint Working Group which interacted with Aldermaston (England's Nuclear Laboratory). He retired in June 1984. Eldon remained active in his profession as a chemical engineer consultant for NASA.
He was an active member of Trinity Bible Church in Los Alamos, NM. All his life Eldon was active in the community serving on the school board of Los Alamos, Boy Scouts, Big Brother program and other civic duties.
He died of cardiac arrest/sleep apnea on November 12, 1988.
