Mrs. Evelyn Harriett Calef of Princeville, 74, passed away in her home early Saturday morning, December 28, 1963, rather unexpectedly although she had been in ill health for some time.
Mrs. Calef was born October 30, 1889 in Winona, Minn., the daughter of Oliver P. and Ella Caskey Gard. She was married October 25, 1914, to Orville Calef in Gibbs, Mo., who survives along with two daughters, Edna, Mrs. Wallace Fuller of Laura and Zelda, Mrs. Willis Thompson of East Peoria, two sons, Ralph Calef of Princeville and Edward Calef of Laura, fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Elza Graves of Princeville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Edith and one in infancy, one half-sister, Gusta Mielieke and one half-brother, Oliver Gard.
Funeral services were held Monday December 30, at 1:30 in the Cox Memorial Home with Rev. Gary D. Bass of the Laura Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the Stringtown Cemetery.
