Mrs. Mae Bloom, 87 formerly of 824 S 16th died Sunday May 5, 1974 in Lincoln Hill Nursing Home where she had been a resident since April 2.
Mrs. Bloom was born July 1, 1886 in Muscatine, Iowa, a daughter of Abe F and Harriet Snyder Whisler. She married Walter L Bloom June 5 1906 in Muscatine, IA. He proceeded her in death.
Mrs. Bloom had lived in Quincy for 55 years. She was former manager of YWCA cafeteria and later was employed (chef) at Chaddock Boy's School before retiring 22 years ago. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are a son Virgil R Bloom of Quincy, a daughter Mrs. Chester (Harriet) Welton of East Peoria, two sisters, Mrs. Alberta Wolfarth of San Diego, Calif. and Mrs. Henrietta Evans of Fullerton, Calif.: three grand children, 11 great grand children, and one great great granddaughter.
A sister Nellie and a brother Elmer proceeded her in death.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1:00pm in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. The Rev. T.G. Morrow will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
