Mary W. Davis was born on Oct. 28, 1927, in Brooklyn, daughter of Ralph R. and Olive B. Willis Westfall. She graduated from high school in Brooklyn and from the Packard Institute, New York City. She attended the Barnard School of Journalism at Columbia University, New York City.
She married Archibald William Davies on Jan. 17, 1954, in Mount Cisco. Mr. and Mrs. Davies were American Kennel Association dog breeders and handlers in Mount Cisco all their working lives.
Mrs. Davies was the former president of the Lakeland Terrier Club of the United States of America. She and her husband resided in Ogdensburg from 1974 to 1978 and returned to Mount Cisco for 10 years. They moved to Ogdensburg to live with their son Arthur in 1988.
