Ira Sharp, 80, of Detroit and Elk Rapids, died after a long illness In a Detroit hospital. He was married to Emma Alspaugh of Alden. They made their home in Elk Rapids for years. He was captain of the passenger steamer, the Mable, which plied the Intermediate chain of lakes. He leaves his widow, four children, Edna Neff of Birmingham, Bailey Sharp of Grosse Point, Mable Taylor of Pontiac and Luella Kimball of Birmingham; one sister, and three grandchildren.

Robert Stephen McDonald, Jr. [son of Sr. and Sarah Ann Knapp, widow of John Henry Pardington who died at Gettysburgh] a half-brother of my great-grandfather's 1st cousin (Maria Ann Pardington).
