Claire Amundsen
Claire Amundsen, 69, of 47 La Cienega Way, Yuba City, died yesterday in Fremont Hospital following a sudden illenss.
A native of Marysville, she had lived in the Yuba-Sutter area for the past three years. She was a member of an early day Yuba-Sutter area family. Her grandfather, Frank Cunningham, her great-uncle, Edward Cunningham and her father, Edward Cunningham, were all former employees of The Appeal-Democrat. Her brother Adrian also was a reporter for the newspaper.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Goree of Yuba City and Dorothy Caya of Benicia, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Ellis-Olson Mortuary in Albany. Burial will be in the Rolling Hills Cemetery in Richmond.
