Born Feb. 3, 1944, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Ira Emmitt Bowen and Louise Bowen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Bowen; and a sister, Linda Maxwell.
He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, a daughter and son-in-law, four brothers, a sister, five grandchildren.
Burial will be in City Cemetery, Cherryville.
