Mary Joan Eye Bodkin, 75, of Upper Tract, W.Va., died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at her residence.

Mrs. Bodkin was born Aug. 26, 1932, in Deer Run, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Harry Wilbert and Annie Mae Martin Eye.

She graduated from Franklin High School in 1950. She was an office manager for Dr. H. Luke Eye. She was a member of Christ Central Community Church.

On May 25, 1950, she married Joe Peter Bodkin Jr.; he survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Sandra Jo "Sandy" Silberg of Williamsport, Pa.; a son, Darrell Bodkin of Upper Tract, W.Va.; three sisters, Corinne Harness of Belt, Md., Dorothy Humphrey of Franklin, W.Va., and Margaret Elliott of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; a brother, Dr. H. Luke Eye of Franklin, W.Va.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Revs. Sam Harper and Edgar Null will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at Christ Central Community Church. Burial will be in the Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract, W.Va.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Basagic Funeral home in Franklin, W.Va.

Memorial contributions may be made to the J. Pete Bodkin Memorial Scholarship Fund and/or Pendleton County High School, or to the Mountain Hospice, P.O. Box 416, Franklin, WV 26807.
