SOUTH BEND - Rome Carl Baichley, 77, of Jensen Beach, Fla., and formerly of South Bend, died at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday in Mariner Health Care of Palm City, Fla. Mr. Baichley was a retired shipping clerk for AM General Corp. for 18 years. He was born Oct. 9, 1918, in Logansport, and has resided in South Bend most of his life, moving to Florida in 1990. On Jan. 13, 1938, in South Bend, he married Irma Kertai. She died July 14, 1990. Surviving are two daughters, Rosemary Snyder of South Bend and Irma Jean Poulos of Jensen Beach; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
